Teach Jesus8/24/2025 TEACH AGAIN!
Terry R. Baughman “For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, … made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:5-6 NIV). Twice Paul wrote to the church at Corinth. Initially, he declared, “I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2 NIV). He determined to speak with these believers in simplicity, relying only on the power of the Spirit to convince and convict them of their wrongdoing. He came to them with the simple message of Jesus Christ. This theme continued in Paul’s second letter as he appealed to God’s revelation to bring understanding to the darkened hearts of those who did not believe the Gospel. Paul said, “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God” (2 Corinthians 4:4 NIV). He was emphatic that if we teach Jesus spiritual illumination will come from the same God who spoke light into existence in Creation. This is the God of Glory who was revealed in the face of Jesus Christ! When we teach and preach Jesus Christ is the source and supply of everything, He will bring revelation and understanding to those who previously did not have the ability to see. The ministry of Jesus was to bring vision and understanding. He revealed that He was sent, “to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free” (Luke 4:18 NIV). Though He healed many physical infirmities in His ministry, of greater significance was the spiritual healing that came. Jesus said, “Blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear” (Matthew 13:16 NIV). His light has come! Let us proclaim the good news: Jesus is the light of the world and He saves, so that all may see that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! Theme passage: “If you will teach the believers these things, you will be known as a faithful and good minister of Jesus, the Anointed One. Nurture others in the living words of faith and in the knowledge of grace which you were taught” (1 Timothy 4:6 TPT).
