Obituary
Efrain Morales Davila
1947 - 2025
On August 9, 2025, Efraín Morales Dávila was called up to heaven. He was surrounded by the love of his family and friends and supported by his faith. He lived a full life, admired by many because of his kindness, intelligence, and know-how. He loved all kinds of music and he could fix almost anything, a true renaissance man - the kind seldom found. Above all, Efraín will be remembered for his loud, contagious laugh. He was a jokester, always ready to tell an elaborate funny story or play an innocent practical joke developing a full story right up to the punch line.

Efraín loved to travel but instead of talking about the beautiful scenery, he would talk endlessly about the food he enjoyed. He was a foodie before that term was popular. He would travel frequently for work and pleasure. He had the opportunity to travel to Malaysia, London, South America, Italy, and Spain among others. Once he arranged business travel so that he could complete a trip around the world. Professionally, he was an industrial engineer proud to have graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez and of obtaining a Master's degree of Engineering from the University of Maryland while working for the Puerto Rico Department of Roads and Transportation. He moved through various jobs before he found the right fit with Eli Lilly Pharmaceuticals, where he worked for 30 years. He eventually moved to the Eli Lilly headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he lived for 15 years before retiring in Arizona in 2012.

Efraín had a rich family life. He met his wife, Evelyn Correa Del Valle, when they were 13 and 14 years old as next-door neighbors in the town of Caguas, Puerto Rico.  From there, eternal love blossomed into a marriage of 56 years. Together, they raised two children, Efraín Orlando and Sandra Annette. Efraín Orlando married Sandra Kenny, and Sandra Annette married Mike Durazo. Efraín was blessed with three grandchildren: Gabriel Mateo, Naomi Elena, and Béatrice Eloise. He also cherished his beloved little sister Muñeca and her husband Rubén Rodríguez. They all feel blessed to have had him as the head of the household and call him "Esposo, Papi, Hermano, and Abuelo". Now, Efraín has reunited in heaven with his parents, Panchita Dávila Lasanta and Efraín Morales Ortiz, his best friend Héctor Pérez, his second child, Rubén Alejandro, who died at birth, his favorite dog, Lester, and above all with Jesus. Friends and family still on earth will miss him deeply, filled with the joy of having been loved by him and the comfort that this is a "see you later".
